Afternoon everyone! From the fourteenth april 16:05, every thread and reply will earn you Gold Dragons. These will be used to purchase a collection of things.. which we don't have yet. But to solve that, I'll be taking suggestions on what you may want to purchase replied down below here. Once I have enough, I'll create the shop thread, which will be updated as time goes.

-Mercenaries -Guards -Soldiers (only available to leaders with a cause; Stannis, Renly, Daenerys, Joffrey, Robb) -Horses -Swords and other weapons, like bows -Lowborn becomes rich (this makes a lowborn become rich; prerequisite- 70 posts) -Land (small plots of land; mostly land in Essos and The North, and sacked Cities) -Workers. If you own land or a city was sacked, workers will build/rebuild the land and renew it; you must buy more when rebuild is complete and you wish to rebuild/build more -Pregnancy (female only) -Choose gender of baby (requires a purchased pregnancy) -Marriage contract (this can only be offered by a House; the amount bargained for his marriage is subtracted from the buyer and deposited into the contractor) -Slaves (They build and work for you, deliver messages, unpaid; the price increases if the slave trade is affected in Essos)
I didn't work out the prices. These are my suggestions, feel free to add.

You could also go a members market where people can offer up things. Like someone is playing a sellsword, they can sell there character to someone's army or even just possibly selling graphics or things for accounts.

It would be kind of cool if the market was used ICly, also.

I don't particularly like IC markets. They don't make much sense. If your character wants something they should have to roleplay getting it, and if they can reasonably get it, then they can have it. The amount of posts you have shouldn't have an effect on that.

We can rid of the IC I would think, but many can take these things overboard. We already have members on here who done these things on WIC, which is where a market and currency comes in. And please tell me why you feel the posts shouldn't have an effect?

People rarely used the market to my knowledge in WIC, and when they did it always seemed strange and unnecessary to me. I mean that post count shouldn't have an effect on our character's successes. If your character wants to buy 1000 sellswords and has the gold for it, they should be able to do. They shouldn't have to worry about an IC market OOC. I wouldn't mind a currency between the players for OOC things, but it just seems a little pointless to me is all.

Hmmm. Fair point, then. Let's keep post count out of it, and only deal the markets OOC and with the currency you have.

But then how can you easily specify what money a character should have?

Everything a character possesses should make sense to the story and to the character. If it makes sense for a character to possess something, whether it be an army, a Valyrian sword, or slaves, then they should be able to make use of those items in the roleplay. The more complex a system of rules is, the more the story suffers. I believe common sense would be a better system than trying to record golden dragons and post counts. Concerning an OOC market, what exactly could players purchase from each other? I'm curious .
